We congratulate the Single Parent Support Australia on providing this resource to help point women to legal information and legal help that may be available.

One of the important ways that legal information travels is by word of mouth - a mother telling her daughter, sisters talking, friends and work colleagues passing on information. So, as you use the links below and you gather information, you will hopefully find information that you need and also information that you can pass on to help others.

Access to accurate legal information and to legal help, helps to empower women to avoid problems and when problems do happen to sort things out properly and fairly.
But the law isn't always right, sometimes the law doesn't produce fair results and sometimes women can't get the legal help they need.

We hope that the resources here will also help women think about what must be changed and and also how individuals can help to make things better.
